How JoeC handles information.
Different features use different processing methods. This page explains what stays in your browser, what is submitted to JoeC, and what may appear in provider logs.
Tools
The additional contrast, permission, Unicode, list, and JSON Lines utilities calculate locally in the browser. They do not submit pasted text or calculations to JoeC. Processing is limited to 100,000 characters and 5,000 lines where applicable.
JoeC offers browser-local utilities alongside server-backed URL shortening and optional document or media conversion. Input typed or pasted into those tools is processed by JavaScript within your browser; the browser-local tools do not intentionally upload their inputs to this website or a third-party API. When the optional converter VM backend is enabled, document and media files selected for conversion are uploaded to the site, processed in temporary files, and removed at the end of the request; no site database of converted content is maintained. Site/network logs and client-side browser caches may exist. The scripts reference library offers copy-only examples and does not execute commands. Standard hosting and security requests still produce network logs. Browser extensions, device monitoring and policies outside the site are not controlled by JoeC. The current site package does not include advertising trackers or third-party visitor analytics; Cloudflare Turnstile is used for short-link abuse prevention when enabled. Do not paste credentials, private JWTs, customer logs or confidential information into sites without authorization.
URL shortener
When enabled, creating a short link submits your original destination URL to the JoeC server. We retain the destination, random short code, creation/expiration dates and an enabled/disabled flag in a private SQLite database outside the web root until expiry plus up to 30 days for operational cleanup. Link creation is subject to per-connection and global limits. The server keeps a keyed hash of the originating IP address for rate limiting, in a rolling 24-hour window; older entries are removed when another link is created or when the operator runs maintenance. Cleanup after inactive periods therefore depends on that maintenance, rather than storing the original address in the short-link database. Web-server and Cloudflare security logs have separate retention policies. The creation form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which processes verification information under Cloudflare’s policies. Resolving a short URL redirects the visitor to the specified destination, whose website has its own privacy practices. No visitor click analytics are collected by this feature. To report an abusive short code or request removal, contact the operator.
Contact form
If the contact form is enabled, we receive the name, email, service category, organization or website (if entered), request description, and consent indication. We use the information to evaluate and respond to inquiries. Messages are delivered via the site's configured email system; ordinary mail systems may retain email copies and metadata.
Hosting logs
Our hosting and network providers may retain standard request, IP, security and error logs. Actual log retention depends on the deployed hosting configuration and must be confirmed before publication.
Security and third parties
Do not send credentials through the contact form. Service engagements may require separately approved access or third-party systems, which should be documented in their agreements. No payment processor is connected in this initial build.
Contact and data requests
Requests regarding an inquiry can be sent using the site's contact form. The site operator must publish an independently verified business contact method and applicable retention/disclosure details before production launch.
